The second National Environment Festival organized by Youth Preneuretwork was held in Dhaka
The second National Environment Festival, organized by the Youth Entrepreneur Network, has been held. The event was held at the Independent University campus in Dhaka.
The Environment Club of Independent University co-hosted the two-day national event. The main sponsor of the event was ‘Tel Plastics’, a plastic recycling brand of PRAN-RFL Group.
The project was launched under the Environment and Climate Change Program of Youthpreneur Network in 2022 to raise awareness among students about environment and climate change and to develop sustainable green skills among youth. Following the success of last year, the second edition of the National Environment Festival was organized this year.
Although the first event was held only in Dhaka, this year, the regional selection phase of the festival was organized in five regions – Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, Mymensingh, and Dhaka.
More than three and a half thousand environment-loving students from 230 educational institutions participated. Also, regional selection rounds are conducted online for students from other divisional regions.
Winners of regional qualifiers from across the country participated in 9 competitions in the Environment Olympiad, Environment Project, Digital Poster, Environment Quiz, Drawing Competition, Case Solving Contest, Environment Wall Paper, PowerPoint Presentation, and Environment Speech in the National Phase of the two-day festival, from where 180 contestants were awarded.
Qayyum Khan, Members of the Board of Trustees of Independent University, the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Help Services Foundation, and the Convener of Preserve Planet Earth Climate Change Conference were present as the chief guests at the second National Environment Festival.
Director of Shakti Institute of Dhaka University SM Nasif Shams, Head of Department of Environmental Science and Management of Independent University K Ayaz Rabbani, Head of Department of Computer Science and Engineering Mahadi Hasan, Director of Center for Industrial Automation Robotics and Internet of Things Faisal Uddin were also present at the occasion.
Senior Lecturer of the Department of Environmental Science and Management of Independent University Tanveer Ahmed Haroon presided over the prize distribution session.
Qayyum Khan, convener of the Preserve Planet Earth Climate Change Conference the chief guest of the program, said, “Students should participate more in such educational programs in addition to academic studies. In addition to hands-on education, students can acquire skills for future life.”
Kamrul Hasan, executive director of Tel Plastics, the special guest of the event, said, ” Tel Plastics, a plastic recycling brand of PRAN-RFL Group, works for the environment.
It is in this context that Tel Plastics has joined the environmental festival so that we can contribute to environmental education programs for children and teenagers.”
Khandaker Abdullah Al Tahmeed, the special guest of the program and President of Youthpreneur Network, said,
“The main goal of the National Environment Festival organized under the Environment and Climate Change Program of Youthpreneur Network is to activate students more effectively in environment and climate conservation.”
PRAN-RFL Group’s plastic recycling brand ‘Tel Plastics’ has collaborated as the main sponsor of the second edition of the National Environment Festival.
