Senjuti, the honorable Member of Parliament of Bangladesh, took an oath to the students to protect the environment
Laila Parveen Senjuti, Member of Parliament (Bangladesh), from the reserved women’s seat, read the oath to the students of self-commitment to environmental protection by planting trees in the Tala Upazila of Satkhira District.
She recited the oath to students at the “Vriksh Bandhu Rally (Tree-friend Rally)” organized by the voluntary organization Amraa Bondhu Foundation at Tala Shilpakala Academy on June 11, 2024.
The students took oath with the parliament member, “Trees provide oxygen, food, and protect the environment’s balance.
We pledge our gratitude to the trees that we will not kill them. We will plant more trees, take care, fill the country with greenery. This country is ours. We will protect this country. Amen. “
The “Vriksh Bandhu Rally” held under the slogan ‘Live green, smile green’ was chaired by SM Nahid Hasan, President of Amraa Bandhu Foundation as special guests.
Ghosh Sanat Kumar, Chairman of Tala Upazila Parishad and Shimun Sams, Women’s Affairs Secretary of District Awami League, along with other members of the District Awami League, attended the event.
Later, the guests handed over fruit, forest and medicinal tree saplings to more than five hundred students present.
Munya, a student of Shahid Ali Ahmed High School for Girls at Tala, who participated in this exceptional gathering, said,
“I feel very happy to come to this exceptional event. We know that plants give us oxygen and food, but we forget. The chief guest encouraged us to plant trees.”
SM Nahid Hasan, President of Amraa Bandhu Foundation, said the program aims to inspire young students in the Upazila. Planting and conservation of trees is not only the work of the state.”
“This is the responsibility of every citizen of a state. But we never show gratitude to the trees. This event is to remind us that trees are our friends,” she added.
