Department of Environment’s Mobile Court fined and sealed Two Factories in Savar, Dhaka

The environment department’s mobile court has fined one of the two factories in Savar and another Tk.60000.00 for environmental pollution.
Kazi Tamjid Ahmed, the executive magistrate of the environment department, conducted the operation in Srikhandia of Ashulia and Rajfulbaria area of Savar on Monday (September 14, 2020) afternoon.
Magistrate Kazi Tamjid Ahmed told Bangla news that an unnamed factory in the Shrikhandia area was preparing raw materials by processing plastic casing of discarded batteries without any clearance from the environment department.
As a result, the environment was being seriously polluted. The factory owner could not show any valid paper. Due to which the power supply of the factory has been disconnected and sealed.
Besides, another battery manufacturing factory called Legend Battery was raided in the Rajfulbaria area of Savar and fined Tk. 60,000.00.
At that time, the factory was also declared closed. Such operations will be conducted every week, said Executive Magistrate Kazi Tamjid Ahmed.
