Greening should be done in educational institutions to improve the environment: Environment Minister, Bangladesh
Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Minister, Ministry of Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), Bangladesh, has said that the greening project will be implemented with the aim of improving the overall environment along with quality education in the educational institutions of the country.
He said that the present government has given utmost importance to development of education, health sector and environment. As a part of building Smart Bangladesh, educational institutions are working to create smart citizens.
The environment minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the annual sports competition, inter-departmental debate competition-2024 organized at Khilgaon Model University College, Dhaka, recently.
The environment minister also said, ‘Sports and cultural competitions should be organized for the mental and physical development of students. Through such competitions, students will develop leadership qualities and prepare themselves to win in all fields.
The minister urged the teachers to teach the students properly and away from all kinds of irregularities.
He assured to take all necessary initiatives for the development of education, including opening new departments in the educational institution, constructing new buildings, providing facilities to poor student.
The minister planted trees at the school and the chief guest gave prizes to the competition winners.
