Hundreds of people cleaned the garbage on Cox’s Bazar beach
At Sugondha point of Cox’s Bazar Sea beach, 500 people wearing green caps, masks and sky-colored vests. They cleaned garbage from the beach at about two kilometers from Sugondha Point to Kalatali point on the south side of the beach.
Those who took part in the clean-up drive were employees of the industrial group RFL’s household goods brand ‘Tel Plastics’.
The organization undertakes this ‘Beach Cleaning’ program to maintain the balance of the environment and create awareness among the people. Dhaka Round Table and Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police assisted in organizing the event.
RN Pal, Managing Director, RFL Group inaugurated the beach cleaning program. He said RFL has a social responsibility as the country’s leading industrial group.
As part of this, they carry out various programs throughout the year. This time, they cleaned some parts of the beach to give a safe and clean beach to the tourists.
RN Pal further said that people would be made aware through the program so that no one throws garbage on the beach and pollutes the environment.
They intend to carry out similar programs in different river port areas of the country, including Patenga sea beach in Chittagong and Kuakata sea beach in Patuakhali.
Kamrul Hasan, Executive Director, Tel Plastics, Fahim Hossain, Head of Marketing and senior officials of RFL Group were present on occasion.
