Rickshaw procession in Khulna Bangladesh to prevent climate change
A rickshaw procession has taken place in Khulna under ‘Run paddle for the world, nature, and people.’ The procession was co-organized by the Coastal Livelihood and Environmental Action Network (CLEAN) and the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD).
The procession went around the city’s main roads and ended with a street meeting. More than one and a half hundred rickshaws took part in it.
Sitting in these rickshaws, people from different walks of life in the city carried placard festoons with various slogans to protect the environment.
Hassan Mehedi, Chief Executive of the CLEAN, said, ”We have organized this exceptional Rickshaw marches. It is to demand implementing climate prosperity plan, recovery of climate compensation from the developed world, ensuring 100% renewable energy, stop investing in fossil fuels and protection of next-generation from climate disaster.”
Prominent personalities and young environmentalists of Khulna metropolis took part in it.
