“Roof gardens” play a historic role in protecting the environment

Md. Arif Hossain Khan, Prominent Agricultural Scientist and Member of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Research Cell, Said,

“Rooftop gardens are playing a historic role in urban greening. If roof and balcony garden can develop in a planned manner, city dwellers can live in green Dhaka.”

He made these remarks while attending a discussion meeting regarding our efforts in greening the city and what roof gardeners should do in dengue awareness at Mirpur Model Academy School Auditorium on the occasion of the first-anniversary event of “Jog Biyog Social Organization.”

Due to climate change, the roof garden has become very important. Those who involve in roof gardens and balcony gardens in Dhaka city should bring under training.

The Ministry of Agriculture can play an essential role in this regard. Roof gardeners should also give special training to prevent dengue.

It is the need of the hour for house owners to look great at the tenants and apartment owners in Dhaka who want a roof garden or balcony garden.
