The climate change and carbon emission training with the youth of 17 countries has ended recently in Dhaka
Under the slogan ‘We Connect We Change,’ Good Neighbors successfully concluded a 2-month global youth networking program on climate change and carbon emissions for youth from 17 countries worldwide. Youths from Community Development for Peace – CDP, Gulshan, and Ghatail of also participated in this program.
Throughout the training, each participating country expressed their views on the climate conditions of each country and what youth can do to reduce-
- carbon emissions,
- one day zero carbon day,
- creating public awareness,
- planting trees,
- sharing written reports, and
- highlighting the harmful side of carbon emissions.
Bangladesh, at the end of the program, Md Arif Hossain, CDP Manager of Good Neighbors Gulshan Branch, said that the result of climate change is the occurrence of various disasters such as fires, heavy rains, alkalinity, extremes, floods, and lightning. Reducing carbon emissions is now the world’s most pressing issue and one of the goals of the SDGs.
He hoped participants would change their lifestyles and discourage others from carbon emissions.
Razia Sultana, Senior Manager of Good Neighbors Bangladesh, said that in such a global situation, Good Neighbors’ groundbreaking action would send an important message to the world’s people.
She expressed optimism that the earth would become beautiful at the hands of the youth. She thanked the organizers and participants of the event.
