The world has gone through another year of climate disaster: UN chief
The impact of climate change is becoming increasingly clear. UN Secretary-General António Guterres said that 2024 is among the 10 hottest years recorded in the past decade. He called the event a “climate disaster in real time.”
On January 9, António Guterres stated that to ensure a safer world, we need to greatly decrease carbon emissions by 2025 and shift to renewable energy.
He called for immediate action to address this alarming situation of climate change.
Taiwan’s Central Meteorological Administration reported that the average annual temperature in 2024 was 24.97 degrees Celsius, the highest recorded since 1897.
