Cycle rally in Dhaka to save green and create a drug-free society
Today, September 01, 2023, a bicycle rally was held from Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan (Manik Mia Avenue) in the capital at 09:00 a.m. with the slogan ‘Let’s talk about green and build a drug-free Bangladesh by bicycle’.
The cycle rally starts from the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan’s front square, goes around the High Court square via Shahbagh, and ends in front of the Jatiya Press Club.
Around 300 cyclists from various cyclist groups, including Bangladesh Tourist Cyclist and Keraniganj Cycling Group, participated in the rally in a joint initiative of Ladies Circle Bangladesh Police and Round Table Bangladesh.
The rally was inaugurated as the chief guest by the Hon’ble Planning Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, M. A. Mannan MP and Dr. Mr. Mahid Uddin BPM Barr, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations), Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Dhaka was present as a special guest.

Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Adviser of Green Page and Superintending Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board, was present as an honored guest.
On the eve of the inauguration of the rally, the chief guest, special guests, and other speakers gave speeches on its beneficial effects on the environment, public health, and economy.
Apart from this, as teenagers are busy cycling, it is possible to keep themselves free from other crimes of society as well as have the opportunity to get addicted to drugs.
Ejaz Mahmud Roni, National President of Round Table Bangladesh, gave a welcome speech at the event. The rally ended with a photo session with a thanks.
