Environmentalists are now using new ‘agricultural drones’ that run on artificial intelligence (AI) to solve this problem. This is a major step in the history of forestry.
Technology effectiveness:
Seed Ball: These drones carry special ‘seed balls’ made of soil, nutrients, and seeds.
AI Scanning: The drones first fly over the destroyed forest and scan the soil moisture and suitable locations. Then they automatically drop several seed balls into the ground at the right place every second.
Speed and efficiency: A drone can plant about one lakh seeds a day, which is impossible for humans.
Just as technology has been a tool for deforestation, AI drone technology is now the best hope for forest restoration. The global expansion of this technology will facilitate the fight against deforestation.
