This year Amazon forest destruction has increased by 85%

The deforestation process is being continued in the Amazon forest situated in the northern part of Brazil. The destruction rate of the forest increased by 85% in 2019 compared to the previous year. This information was obtained from the government source on Tuesday. News from AFP.
According to the data from the National Institute for Space Research of Brazil, it was known that about 9,166 sq. Km. of the forest area has been destroyed in 2019, which was the highest amount in the last five years.
On the other hand, about 4,946 sq. Km. of the forest area of Amazon was destroyed in 2018. The National Institute for Space Research released this information after burning a large area of the Amazon basin last year. The incident was widely criticized worldwide.
