At least 2.3 million people die annually in India due to Environmental Pollution
More people are dying in India due to environmental pollution in the world. According to a study conducted by Lancet, it has known that at least 2.3 million people died in India in 2019 due to pollution of air, water, organic, industrial waste, and vehicle exhaust gases.
China is in second position in the world pollution list, and 2.2 million people are dying annually in this country due to it. There has been an increase of 55% in death in the last two decades after 2000 due to environmental pollution, as known by this study.
This pollution study report published in “The Lancet Planetary Health Journal” states that at least 9 million people die annually globally due to pollution. The USA is in the 7th position on that list, and 0.112 million people die here annually due to environmental pollution.
But in an international pollution study, India was in 177th position out of 180 countries in 2018. After that, the” State of Global Air” informed in 2019 that 1.2 million people die yearly in India due to air pollution.
