Bangladesh government is determined to improve the environment: Environment Minister (Bangladesh)
Shahab Uddin, Minister, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), Bangladesh, said, “The present Bangladesh government is determined to improve the environment.
People from outside the Upazila will now come here to see the beauty enhanced by planting trees and constructing walkways on the banks of the Juri River.”
The minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the inauguration of the project on the construction of the Drishinandan walkway on the bank of river Juri, plantation of trees on the banks of the river, and ensuring waste management to keep the river pollution-free.
The facility will be constructed at the cost of Tk 60.80 million with the funding of the Climate Change Trust and the implementation of the Department of Environment (Bangladesh).
Under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ratan Kumar Adhikari and the direction of Jubo League leader Shah Alam, Deputy Director of Environment Department (Bangladesh) Khandkar Kabir Ahmad, Upazila Awami League President Masuk Miah, Vice President Abdul Khaliq, Vice Chairman Rinku Ranjan Das and others spoke as special guests.
According to the sources of the Department of Environment (Bangladesh), the government has already planned for this project. The project implementation work will be given through tender before the scheduled time.
