The Government of Bangladesh has taken lots of necessary steps to preserve nature and natural resources: Minister of Environment, MD. Shahab Uddin

Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate change MD. Shahab Uddin said that preserving the natural environment is not possible for any individual person, institution or government. In this case, everyone has to come forward and have to work together.

On 4th January 2020 evening, he said this when he was addressing in a price distributing ceremony of ‘Channel I Prokriti and Jibon ‘ organized by Channel I,s “Prokriti and Jibon” Foundation.

The Minister said that this country of intensive greenery has gradually become dirty and lost its validity today due to various human-made reasons. We all need to work together to bring back life from the messy nature for the sake of the environment and lives.

MD. Shahab Uddin also said the government has already taken various initiatives to preserve nature and the environment. As part of future action plans, the present government has adopted a policy of conducting development activities without harming the environment.

Although industrialization and urbanization create vast employment opportunities due to industrialization in the country, a cautious approach is being taken to ensure that the environment is not harmed in the domestic situation.

The Minister said that efforts to ensure a sustainable environment for the current and future population of the country through working relentlessly for the environment, forests and biodiversity conservation, dealing with climate change impacts, environmental pollution control, development of forest resources, and sustainable management of the marine resource.

Meanwhile, they called the owners of brick kilns, industrial factories and vehicles to work by maintaining a sustainable environment.

Nature and Life Foundation Chairman Mukit Majumder Babu, at the ceremony, asked for keeping an individual contribution to maintaining the bonds of nature and life in Bangladesh Valerie Anne Taylor, founder of the Center for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) have received the Nature Conservation Medal- 2019.

We have a lot to learn from her. She has come from England to our country to work for the benefit of the paralyzed and to work for the socio-economic development as well as to preserve nature and the environment.

According to this great woman, if 1.6 million people of this country were conscious of conserving nature, we would have got the beautiful green Bengal again.

Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Abdullah Al Meshin Chowdhury spoke among others at the awards ceremony presided over by Mukti Majumder Babu, Chairman of Nature and Life Foundation; Director-General of the Environment Department. A . k. M Rafiq Ahmed; Mr. Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Limited and Channel I.
