The environmental adviser of Bangladesh called on the world to work together to prevent pollution
Syed Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOFECC), Bangladesh, and the Ministry of Water Resources (MOWR), Bangladesh, said that the world must work together to prevent plastic pollution.
We have the opportunity to work together on an ambitious global plastics deal. We also need to work together to conserve biodiversity.
On September 04, she said this in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. She was participating in the program titled ‘Ministerial Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA)’ and joined virtually from her office at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The adviser stressed the importance of evaluating global water resources and establishing a fair system to safeguard and utilize them.
The world has plenty of technology, innovation, and human resources to solve global challenges. We should use and share them for the world’s benefit.
Syeda Rizwana emphasized the need for global collaboration in safeguarding shared resources like rivers and forests. We also need to address other common concerns, including air pollution.
By collecting real-time data and sharing best practices, countries including Bangladesh will be able to get rid of air pollution.
Syeda Rizwana added, “Working together within CICA, let’s contribute to a sustainable future for our region and ensure environmental and climate justice for every man and woman in our villages and cities, for generations to come.” Let us strive together to achieve a zero carbon future.
