Bangladesh Safe Plumbing Council Organized World Plumbing Day in Dhaka
On March 11, 2024, World Plumbing Day was observed. World Plumbing Day has been celebrated every year since 2010. Plumbing is a system that supplies clean water to buildings and removes wastewater from them.
In building construction, having a system of pipes, valves, tanks, and joints for safe water supply to toilets, washrooms, and kitchens is crucial for our well-being. Similarly, removing liquid waste to protect health is essential to keep these areas germ-free. This day is important worldwide for addressing building and health hazards, as well as for protecting the environment.
A discussion meeting to increase awareness was held on “World Plumbing Day-2024” on March 11, 2024, at Brend and Life Hospital in Crescent Plaza, Green Road, Dhaka. This event was organized by Bangladesh Safe Plumbing Parishad. After the meeting, a short rally took place at Green Road. Brand and Life Hospital, The Green Page News Portal, Environment Movement Stage, BD-Tourist Cyclist, and Bangladesh National Human Rights Association co-hosted the event.
Eminent environmentalist and Additional Chief Engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Mr. Fakhrul Hossain, Director of Brand and Life Hospital, and Dr. Farzana Jabin, Physician of the same Hospital.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Al Amin bin Hasim, the President of Writers Artists Readers Assembly. Amir Hasan Masud, president of Bangladesh Environment Movement, was present. Chairman of the National Human Rights Association, Md. Manjur Hossain Isa conducted the event.
The speakers compared the building’s water, gas, and sewage systems to the human body’s network of veins and arteries. Human life is at risk if there is a blood circulation problem, if these measures are not planned in the building structures and if the necessary maintenance is not done from time to time, human life also becomes dangerous and diseases and germs infect the human body and people lose their lives.
Therefore, the importance of this day is immense to spread awareness of safe plumbing for the reduction of building risks and health risks, for the protection of the environment.
Note that scientist Einstein said, “If I had a chance to start over, I would be a plumber.”
Therefore, the importance of flambéing in human life to be considered essential. For our healthy and beautiful life, we must be more aware and spread awareness at all levels in society.
