Bangladesh: Eco-friendly native and old trees have declined alarmingly due to climate change in Bangladesh. Due to declining vegetation, the habitats of various local birds have decreased in Bangladesh.

This disrupts the regular reproductive system of birds; in this situation, Md. Ziaur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police of Moulvibazar, Bangladesh, and Hasanat Kamal, Editor of online portal I News at Moulvibazar, were thinking of doing something for the birds named “Nest of Love.” Jahed Ahmad Chowdhury, a young entrepreneur, and businessman, joined their initiative.

Entrepreneurs of the “Nest of love” took up this plan about two years ago. However, it was impossible to implement that plan, including the COVID 19 situation. As the situation of COVID 19 is normal, they have started that work.

As per the plan, tied earthen pots and pans for birds in the trees adjacent to the Additional Superintendent of Police’s office premise and Moulvibazar Sadar Circle, Bangladesh Police.

In the Additional Superintendent of Police’s office area on M Saifur Rahman Road, two signboards were hanging on both sides of the office entrance were written there “The nest of love for birds.”

Jahed Ahmad Chowdhury said, “Let us all work together to create a safe bird environment. There are different types of plants, including mango, mahogany, litchi, and arjuna, in that area. Earthen pots have been tied to the trees for the birds to live in.”

Ziaur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police at Moulvibazar Sadar Circle, also one of the entrepreneurs of the nest of love, said that he saw people’s love for birds in a village in Rajshahi where thousands of birds lives. Seeing that, he wants to do something like a sanctuary for birds.

Another entrepreneur, Hasanat Kamal, Editor of the online portal I News, saw the bird’s nest collapse in the storm.

When it rains, the chicks fall to the ground and die. Even if the injured and endangered birds get rescued, they cannot save. He also wonders if something like a permanent home for birds can create in nature.

They started planning on how to implement it as their thoughts matched. Collects perforated earthenware pots that do not collect rainwater as planned.

Initially, placed 20 pots and pans made of soil in the trees adjacent to the office of the Additional Superintendent of Police.

There are many different types of birds. Their purpose is to protect pandemic species of birds, including Hawks, Doves, Bulbuls, Sparrows, Tuntunis, Doyles, and Finches, which will enrich the nature-environment when they grow up.
