The ‘Gulf Stream’ may end by 2025

The Gulf Stream system may end by 2025. A new study forecasted this. Scientists call this critical ocean current the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). If it will stop this current, it will have a catastrophic effect on the climate.

Due to global warming, AMOC is now in its weakest state in 1,600 years. In 2021, researchers have successfully identified several significant red flags. The new research was published in the journal Nature Communications.

Professor Peter Detlovsen of the University of Copenhagen in Denmark led the study. In this regard, he said, “I think we should be very concerned.”

According to new research, this trend could stop between 2025 and 2095 if it cannot reduce global carbon emissions.

But many other scientists disagree with the new analysis. But all scientists agree that the issue is of great concern. So, carbon emissions should reduce rapidly.
