Eco-friendly construction materials should be used in building construction – Syeda Rizwana Hasan
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bangladesh, stated that future offices must be environmentally friendly.
The building should be designed in such a way that work can be done in sunlight during the day without electric lights. Adequate ventilation should be provided in the building. Besides, environment-friendly construction materials, including block bricks, should be used.
She spoke about the implementation progress of the annual development program for the fiscal year 2024-25 during a review meeting at the ministry on Sunday afternoon.
During the advisory meeting, she advised the Director General of the Environment Department in Bangladesh to raise awareness about preventing river, noise, and plastic pollution. He said, “Effective steps should be taken to stop the use of plastic banners.”
She advised the head of the forest department on wildlife conservation, modern safari park management, and planting native trees instead of eucalyptus.
The meeting included the ministry’s secretary, additional secretaries, heads of subordinate offices, project directors, and related officers.
