Environmental pollution must be prevented to save future generations
In Bangladesh, environmental pollution is causing various complex diseases for people in different cities each year. The environment is usually more visible in villages than in cities. Unplanned industrial plants in cities can be said to be largely responsible for this.
In the villages, there are still clean and pure places to breathe, but factories and unplanned urbanization in the city have made life miserable for many.
In fact, now the level of environmental pollution is increasing everywhere from villages to cities, from towns to cities. Plastic bottles, jars, and tubs are clogging city drains, leading to waterlogging and environmental harm.
People are continually clearing trees, forests, and mountains to build settlements, which harms the environment. Due to this, environmental pollution is increasing day after day.
A country needs to preserve 20% of its forest land for environmental reasons, but this goal has not been achieved. The greed of those exploiting the land is causing a daily decline in essential resources for environmental balance.
We prioritize the happiness and comfort of the present, often sacrificing everything else. If we continue to destroy forests, cut down mountains for development, and use plastic everywhere, future generations will face dire consequences.
In Bangladesh, cities have a higher population density than rural areas because many people move to cities for work and basic needs, leading to overcrowding.
Despite efforts by cleaning staff and officials to maintain cleanliness, plastic bottles and polythene accumulate in drains, causing stagnant water that breeds mosquitoes for months.
Furthermore, by throwing these plastic items into the drain instead of burning them, environmental pollution is spreading all around. If we were more mindful of throwing plastic items in designated bins instead of down the drain, we could reduce environmental pollution.
It is our moral responsibility to keep or burn the polythene items used in the drains in a specific place. If we all fulfill this responsibility correctly, the drains of the city will be clean, water will not be able to get stuck in them, and there will be no environmental pollution.
Deforestation leads to reduced oxygen, increased carbon dioxide, and ultimately environmental disasters. In fact, there is something we can do along with the government to prevent environmental pollution or its disasters.
If we are a little more aware, environmental pollution will be reduced to a great extent. If we show more kindness to forests, mountains, and trees and educate people about the consequences of their destruction, nature could lose its balance and retaliate. This understanding could lead to positive change.
Let’s be mindful to prevent environmental pollution, protect our country, and ensure a better future for ourselves and the next generation.
