100 Years of Mujib: Inaugurated Tree Plantation at Kalapara, Patuakhali

On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, there were 20,325 nos. Tree saplings of different species distributed at a free of cost to the various educational institutions in Kalapara, Patuakhali, in a tree-planting program.

Alhaj Mahibbur Rahman Mahib, Hon’ble MP of Patuakhali- 4, was inaugurated the program on Friday (June 5, 2020). He was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony held at Mozhar Uddin Government Honors College’s premises in Kalapara Upazila.

Earlier, he handed over tree saplings to the headmasters of Khepupara Girls Secondary School and Mangalsukh Government Primary School.

At that time, the Upazila Executive Officer Abu Hasnat. Shahidul Haque, Municipal Mayor Bipul Chandra Hawlader, Government Honors College Principal (Acting) Shahidul Islam, Patuakhali Assistant Forest Conservator Devdas Mukherjee, Upazila Forest Officer Abdus Salam and BCL leaders and journalists were present.

The Theme of the World Environment Day 2020 is "Celebrate Biodiversity'

Abdus Salam, Upazila Forest Officer, said that on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under the SFPC project, the Coastal Forest Department (CFD) are distributing these trees at a free of cost to the listed educational institutions.
