Crocodiles are set free at the Sundarbans Wildlife Breeding Centre

Three native crocodiles have been released from Karamjal Tourism and Wildlife Breeding Centre in the Sundarbans. The crocodiles were released in three canals in Karamjal and Harbaria areas of the forest on Sunday afternoon, December 20.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr. Md. Billal Hossain, Joint Secretary Md. Abdur Razzak, Deputy Secretary ASM Ferdous, Forest Conservation Officer Md. Moinuddin Khan including many senior officers and employees of the Forest Department and Divisional Forest Officer Muhammad Belayet Hossain were present.



Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Centre Officer-in-Charge, Azad Kabir said, “We have a plan to release ninety crocodiles on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu.” As a part of this, a total of 6 out of 3 crocodiles were released. On the afternoon of the 15th of November, 3 crocodiles were released in Harbaria area.
