The end of the era of plastic: The world’s largest environmental agreement after the Paris Agreement is on the verge of implementation.

Limit on Plastic Production: The plan is to set a specific global limit on how much new plastic is made each day from oil or fossil fuels. That is, in the future, companies will not be able to produce plastic as they want.
Ban on harmful chemicals and plastics: The trade and making of many dangerous chemicals and toxic plastics used for color, strength, or durability will be stopped. These chemicals generally pose a risk of hormonal disruption in the human body and serious cancer.

The world’s major oil-producing countries (petrostates) have been strongly opposed to imposing any strict ban or limit on plastic production. Because the main raw material for plastic is petroleum.
