Plastic pollution is no longer limited to the ocean or soil; it has reached the cloud layer of the human blood and the atmosphere. Several recent studies have revealed eye-popping information for scientists, which is a bad sign for human health and the environment.
Research results:
Plastic in the clouds: A group of Japanese scientists studied the water vapor in the clouds over Mount Fuji. They found a lot of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) microplastics. These plastics are changing the clouds’ structure and impacting the climate.
Plastic particles in the heart: Another study found the presence of microplastics in human heart tissue and blood vessels, which is increasing the risk of stroke and heart attack many times over.
Microplastics have now also become a part of our breathing. If the production of single-use plastic worldwide is not stopped immediately, this plastic epidemic will wipe out humanity.
