The government of Bangladesh is encouraging people across the country to use biogas and solar energy

Several development partner countries and organizations, including Germany, assist Bangladesh with renewable energy.

The government has also taken several programs to produce and use environmentally friendly fuels. The government is encouraging people across the country to use biogas and solar energy and save energy.

These were the speakers at a two-part workshop titled ‘Climate Change and Renewable Energy: Linking the Paris Agreement to Sustainable Development’ for Adaptation in Bangladesh organized by the Department of Law and ActionAid at the Sonargaon University (SU) campus on Green Road, Dhaka.



Md. Abul Bashar, Vice-Chancellor of Sonargaon University, was the chief guest at that event. Md. Abul Bashar said, ‘Climate change is a challenge for the world.

Organizing such workshops will not only reiterate our commitment to biodiversity protection but also help in taking appropriate steps to combat the impact of climate change on the environment and environmental damage.’

Md. Al-Amin Molla, Treasurer of the university, said, “Besides humanistic studies, Sonargaon University is organizing seminars and workshops. That is a good initiative.”

MA Mabud, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of SU, said, “We should prepare now to eliminate the effects of climate change in the country.”



Md. Didarul Islam Bhuiyan, Head and Assistant Professor of the University Law Department presided over the workshop, thanked the participants, and said, “It is a workshop of high optimism.”

Md. Sagar Hossain, Lecturer of the SU Law Department, presented the main article in the workshop. He presented detailed data on the impact of climate change and renewable energy and its relationship with the Paris Agreement.
