A Bangladeshi youth has set out to travel the world on foot in order to develop environmental awareness

Bangladeshi youth Saiful Islam Shanto has set out to travel the world on foot. Saiful has already arrived in India from Bangladesh.

He is seen walking along Jessore Road in the afternoon sun. Although seemingly surprised, this Bangladeshi youth is persistent in his goals. His novel decision is to reduce global warming and spread the message of environmental protection to the world.

On March 22, 2024, Saiful started his journey from Parliament House in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is currently crossing India after a long journey. This young man travelling the world on foot is already viral on social media.

Saiful Islam Shanto, a resident of Devidwar Upazila Sadar in the Cumilla District of Bangladesh, is a well-known figure. He studied geography and environment from a college in Dhaka.



Earlier, Shanto had walked around 3000 kilometers in 64 districts of Bangladesh in 75 days in 2022. He also travelled from Bangladesh to India (Dhaka, Sandakphu, Darjeeling) by walking 1,500 kilometers in 64 days. Currently, this young Bangladeshi is walking to travel to 193 countries. Carrying a bag, holding a stick, wearing a hat to protect from the heat, and only wearing shoes, he is walking thousands of miles.

Many people are coming forward to see Saiful while walking along Jessore Road in hot summer. Many people are surprised to hear about his walking around the world, taking selfies with him.

On the other hand, Saiful is again presenting the message of environmental awareness to the people. People passing by are applauding this young man’s action to protect the environment to reduce the increasing global temperature. He aims to walk about forty kilometers a day. Resting on the way at night.

He spends most of his time eating fruit, canned water and plenty of water on the way. Shanto also said that along with the acquaintances, the passers-by also sheltered him many times out of love.

He wants to reach Delhi via West Bengal in India via Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh on foot. Then, decide whether to go Nepal or Uzbekistan.

The world tour will end after visiting Asia (including Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia), followed by Africa, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia.

In this long journey, he has to deal with intense heat, rain, cold, and various challenging situations.
