Air pollution is increasing rapidly worldwide—poison floating in the air. The level of air pollution in Bangladesh has taken a terrible shape. The worst affected are Papua New Guinea and Niger. It has also affected Bangladesh.



According to a recent sensational report, neighboring India, Myanmar, and Bhutan have less air pollution.

A recent study entitled ‘Global Air Conditions-2020: How Air Pollution Affects Lifespan Around the World’ has come to light. The study was conducted jointly by the US Health Effects Institute and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.

There is talk of a terrible situation in Bangladesh. Nepal has the lowest average life expectancy in air pollution among South and East Asian countries. As 3.05 years.

According to the report, Papua New Guinea and Niger are among the countries most affected by air pollution in the world. The average life expectancy in the two countries has decreased to 3.2 years and 3.1 years, respectively.



The report evaluated the data on air quality worldwide in 2019. The average life expectancy in Bangladesh has decreased by 2.91 years due to air pollution. Out of this, external air pollution accounts for 1.16 years, and internal air pollution accounts for 1.53 years.

According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, the average life expectancy in the country is currently 72.6 years. Worldwide, air pollution has reduced the average life expectancy. According to the research report, the global average life expectancy has decreased by one year and eight months due to air pollution.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution kills an estimated 7 million people worldwide each year. The average life expectancy in China has decreased by 1.85 years due to air pollution. Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Myanmar decreased by 2.09, 2.83, 2.66 years, and 2.61 years, respectively.

The study found that smoking reduced life expectancy as much as air pollution.
