An organization called “Jal Jala Jungle and Krishi Zami Raksha Andolan (Conservation of water, swamp, forest and agricultural land movement)” has demanded immediate implementation of the law to conserve all the water, swamps, forests, and agricultural lands of the country.

The demand was placed at a human chain in front of the National Press Club at Dhaka on November 22, 2021.

At the same time, the organization further demanded, “The use of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes should stop.

All water, swamp, and land, including canals, rivers, and streams, should be de-polluted and re-excavated to ensure water flow throughout the country, including Dhaka. We have to attain our fair share of water from India, including protecting domestic fisheries and aquatic resources.”

Speakers at the human chain claim, “For the natural environment of every country in the world, 25 to 33 percent of the total land of the country needs to be forest land, we have only 8.25 percent.

So now we need the blessings of nature to protect the country’s water, swamps, forests and agricultural lands.”

At human chain attended several workers of the organizations.
