Environment and biodiversity, including animals and birds, must be protected: Environment Minister, Bangladesh
Md. Shahab Uddin, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Bangladesh, said, “The environment must preserve to survive the action of nature.
The forest, environment, and biodiversity should be protected, including grass and vines, animals, and birds. The illegal cutting of hills and trees should stop. No one can survive the adverse effects of climate change if the balance of nature destroys.”
He said these as a chief guest’s speech at the opening ceremony of the tree planting campaign and tree fair 2022 organized at Baralekha Upazila Parishad premises of Moulvibazar on July 26, 2022.
“Due to the increase in temperature, wildfires are happening in various places in the developed world, including Europe and America. Railway lines and airports are becoming useless due to high temperatures.
A state of emergency has been issued in those affected countries. If we want to survive this nature’s rudeness, we must let nature live first. We have to plant more and more trees and plants,” the minister added.
Before this, Shahab Uddin handed over land deeds to 31 landless and homeless families on behalf of the Prime Minister. Besides, educational stipends had distributed to 31 students from backward communities, financial grants to 60 families of underprivileged minorities, and 12 students of Mouluvibazar, District.
