Seasonal vegetables and Fruits are rotting and destroying in the Fields
Coronavirus has been being spreading markedly worldwide from the mid of February this year. February, March, April is the harvesting times of some special types of vegetables -veggies, fruits such as tomatoes, Water Melon, Cantaloupe, Karla, Cucumbers, Ladies Finger, etc. in Bangladesh.
But due to the ongoing lockdown because of COVID 19, those are rotting and spoiling in the growing fields.
Generally, the big vegetables- fruits traders used to go from different districts levels to Upazilla levels/growth centers to buy vegetables – veggies from the Upazilla level’s traders who used to collect those from the farmers or from the local markets.
Due to the lockdown, the passenger transport system is fully disrupted. So, the movements of the vegetable’s traders are totally stopped. For this reason’s farmers are not able to sell their agricultural products to the traders.
So, those vegetables- veggies and agricultural fruits are being over ripping, rotting, and destroying at the farming fields. This causes a huge loss of farmers.
Therefore, to survivable of the farmers and protecting this type of valuable foods that good for health from rotting/destroying, it should take special arrangements for collecting and marketing those.
