Three university students, Al Amin, Shahin Alam, and Farhad Mia, are raising awareness about the environment and air pollution by cycling from Tetulia to Teknaf (About 920 Km. apart) in the country.
Three young students began their journey to Teknaf by cycling from Banglabandha Zero Point in Tentulia Upazila, Panchagarh District, on 10 April morning, with the theme “Building a Sustainable World, Adhering to Net-Zero Carbon.”
It is known that Al-Amin’s home is in the country’s Naogaon district. He is a final year student of the Philosophy Department of Rajshahi University.
Shahin Alam’s home is in Sunamganj, a third-year student of the Philosophy Department of the same university. Farhad Mia is a final year student of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). His home is in Narail district.
They said that they will organize various road meetings and discussions to prevent air pollution by cycling from Tentulia to Teknaf. They will plant trees and collect soil from different districts. They said that they will complete their cycle journey within the next 8 days.
In this regard, student Al Amin said, “The environment and air of our country are constantly being polluted.”
“And we are being affected due to this pollution. Our long-standing dream is to make the general public aware. So, the three of us started our awareness cycle journey by cycling from Tentulia to Teknaf. We have already covered 60 kilometers, he added.
Two other students named Shaheen Alam said the same thing. They said, “We have been working on the environment for a long time. We have already completed various awareness programs.”
“We have taken this initiative to make the people of the country aware of the environment. We will cycle from Tentulia to Teknaf to raise environmental awareness among the people in the villages and towns along the route,” they added.
They told,”We have already started this work. All people are applauding and supporting our such initiative. We ask for prayers from the countrymen so that we can complete this journey successfully.”
Farhad Mia said, we, the university, are involved in various social movements. So we wanted to make the common people aware by cycling. So, today we are on our way from Tentulia to Teknaf.
We are very grateful for the way our university, administration and common people are cooperating in this work. If we can complete this journey successfully, we intend to take such exceptional initiatives in foreign countries later.
Meanwhile, a resident of Banglabandha area named Nur Islam said, I suddenly saw three young men cycling on the road. They are making people aware about the environment. This is a good job. I wish them all the best.
