World Food Day is being celebrated

The World Food Day 2020 is being celebrated today (October 16) in Bangladesh and other countries of the world under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
This time the theme is ‘Develop together with everyone, take care of the body, stay healthy, our work is our future.’
Abdur Razzak, Minister, Ministry of Agriculture, made the remarks at a press conference on World Food Day 2020 and contemporary agriculture at the ministry conference on Thursday (October 15).
The Agriculture Minister said we need to be aware of food and nutrition security after COVID 19 in Bangladesh. We must continue our initiative. With this goal in mind, this time, we are going to celebrate World Food Day.
On World Food Day, the Ministry of Agriculture has undertaken various programs, including international seminars, technical sessions, and public awareness-raising activities.
Abdur Razzak said, “This time our theme is ‘develop together with everyone, take care of the body, stay healthy, our work is our future’.” In this regard, an international seminar organized at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was the chief guest at this international seminar. Matia Chowdhury, Chairman, Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Minister, Ministry of Food, and S. M. Rezaul Karim, Minister, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock also was present as special guests.
Ko Dongyu, director-general of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) under the United Nations, spoke online.
