There is an account of tree plantations but not any account for tree destructions

Although every year the government sets the target of planting trees, no one has an account of the number of trees cut down every year. According to the concerned people, planting and cutting down trees, do not need any permission.
Because of this, there is no one to keep the account. To protect the environment, the Bangladesh government stopped digging ponds everywhere by the cut off the surface of the soil. It needs to takes permission from the local administration of Bangladesh to dig a pond.
Again, to fill any reservoir their need approval both from the Administration and the Department of Environment (Bangladesh). If there exists such an obligation for cutting trees, then many trees’ lives will save from destruction.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, like every year, the government starts a tree-planting campaign. Along with that, on the occasion of 100 Mujib Year, set up a 10 million trees planting program was. Environmentalists have emphasized stopping deforestation besides planting trees. They want strict law enforcement against cutting down trees.
According to the concerned people, each village in the union currently has one ward. There is one elected representative in these wards.
The government can easily use them to get the accounts of the trees in each village if want. At the same time, they can note the age of these trees. After that, there may easily make a plan regarding cutting the trees. Government can use the Mosques’ Imams or heads of religious persons or primary school teachers for this works.
They said, “It’s essential to calculate the amount of government land in an area and the number of trees that can use for planting there along with a picture of a tree across the country. Only then, sustainable improvement of the environment will be possible.”
When asked, Sharif Jamil, General Secretary of Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), said, “Tree plantation is a great initiative. But along with tree plantation, it is crucial to saving the old trees as well.”
“Only tree plantation is not enough; we have to make sure the trees are environmentally friendly. Give flowers and fruits, and birds sit in those trees. Only then it will have an impact on the ecosystem.”
To prevent environmental pollution worldwide and to take an effective role in environmental protection and raise awareness, this year World Environment Day was celebrated on June 5 like every year by people worldwide.
Bangladesh also celebrated this day like the other countries of the world. The theme of this year’s World Environment Day was ‘Ecosystem Restoration ‘ be everyone’s promise’.
Regarding this, Shahab Uddin, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Bangladesh, said, “As a result of over-extraction of plants and animals to meet all the worldly needs including food, clothing, a shelter of a vast population of the world, including Bangladesh’s biodiversity and the balance of the environment are constantly ruining.”
“If the current production method and consuming lifestyle continue, the earth’s ecosystem will soon be destroyed. So now, we all have to come forward to restore the ecosystem. This year’s theme is hugely significant in this context.,” he urged.
“To protect the environment, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation of Bangladesh, took many initiatives, including planting trees across the country. In the same way, the government is tirelessly working to conserve the environment and biodiversity and ensure a habitable and sustainable environment by controlling environmental pollution,” he informed.
He further said, “As part of birth centenary celebrations, implementation of 10 million free tree saplings planting activities across the country will play a significant role in protecting the environment.”
