Climate adaptation workshop held in Kurigram, Bangladesh
A workshop on climate adaptation was held in Kurigram to create youth empowerment for local leadership adaptation.
On January 06, 2023, Youthnet, a youth organization on environment and climate, organized this day-long workshop in collaboration with the British Councilor at the Almas Community Center in the district town. Jatrapur Union Parishad Chairman Alhaj Abdul Gafur inaugurated the workshop.
Youthnet Executive Coordinator Sohanur Rahman, District Coordinator Sujan Mohant, Program Coordinator SZ Apu, and Ariful Rahman Shubo along with journalists, teachers, UP members, and 30 members of various social organizations were present in this workshop.
Shohanur Rahman, coordinator of Youthnet, said at the workshop, “We have designed a complete project with some donations from the British King’s birthday party in Dhaka. This workshop is organized to empower the youth of the Char area of Kurigram, which is the most affected by climate change.”
Alhaj Abdul Gafur, Chief guest of the Workshop, said, “Through this workshop, the young women of the district will play a role in adaptation and youth leadership. And he assured to give full cooperation.”
Workshop participant Rubaiya Jannat said, “Through this workshop, I learned about climate change and how young people can lead in sustainability.”
