Dhaka’s air pollution is again going to be unhealthy

The capital Dhaka ranks 25th among 120 cities in the world in terms of air pollution. At this time, IQAir’s air quality score in Dhaka is 72. This air quality is considered to be of ‘moderate or acceptable quality’ or relatively good.

IQAir, a Switzerland-based company, regularly highlights the situation of air pollution. This indicator shows how clean or polluted the air is in a city and alerts people about it in real time.

Pakistan’s Lahore was at the first position in air pollution around 9 am on July 25. The city has achieved a score of 165 on IQAir’s index. Congo’s Kinshasa and Indonesia’s Jakarta were ranked second and third respectively. Kinshasa’s score is 154 and 146 of Jakarta.

According to IQAir criteria, a score of 51 to 100 is considered moderate or acceptable air quality.

A score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include the elderly, children, sick people and pregnant women.

Air quality is considered unhealthy when it reaches a score between 151 and 200. Air is considered very unhealthy when the Air Quality Index reaches a score of 201 to 300. A score of 301 and above is considered catastrophic or risky.
