Rare species of vulture rescued in Salanga, Sirajgonj, Bangladesh

Members of “The Bird Safety House” have rescued a rare vulture species in Salanga, Sirajganj.
The vulture was rescued from Chardhubal village in Dhubil union of Salanga police station on Thursday (December 10) afternoon.

Mamun Biswas, president of ‘The Bird Safety House,’ told the press that the vulture was caught wet in a pond in Chardhubal village by some local youths.

Later, a local man named Masum took it to his house and tied it. The vulture was rescued from the man in the afternoon with the help of local journalists.

Mamun Biswas further said that the vulture’s name is Himalaya Gridhini. It turned out to be sick. Local youths were caught on this occasion. The vulture was given food after being rescued.

Talks have been held with the Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Officer of Rajshahi Forest Department. The bird will be handed over to the forest department as per his instructions.
