Youth need to be more active in protecting the environment
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministries of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources in Bangladesh, emphasized that protecting the environment and controlling pollution is a shared responsibility among all citizens, not just the government.
Common people, students, and social organizations must actively contribute to environmental protection and pollution control. It is time to think about the environment. Only if all the youth of the country are aware, a pollution-free Bangladesh will be established.
She spoke at a meeting with local environmental groups and students at Natore Circuit House on May 19.
As the chief guest at the meeting, she stated that industrial waste has increasingly become a serious threat to the environment. The government is working to control industrial pollution and has implemented measures for effective liquid waste management.
Students and environmental activists from various educational institutions in Natore district city and others participated spontaneously in the meeting. Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan informed the youth about their responsibility in protecting the environment.
The advisor answered their questions and emphasized that young people should join the environmental movement, as conscious decisions now are crucial for a livable future.
