After 20 years, ‘Perovskite’ has broken the monopoly of silicon panels in the world of solar energy. These new panels, available on the market in 2026, reached a record of 36.2% in converting solar energy.
Scientific excellence: Ordinary silicon panels can only absorb a certain part of the sunlight. But perovskite-silicon tandem cells are able to use almost the entire spectrum of light. They are thin in weight, flexible and can even be placed as a transparent layer on window glass.
Cheap energy: Because of this technology, making solar power will cost $0.01 per unit by 2026. It is several times cheaper than coal or gas. As a result, developing countries are now rapidly closing coal-based power plants and turning to solar energy.
