RAB-8 raided Patuakhali’s Galachipa municipal town, and they arrested Md. Russel is a member of the wildlife trafficking cycle and their trafficking wild animal ‘Joiner.’ He was arrested on Saturday (September 12). At that time, a joiner rescued from him.
According to a press release issued by RAB-8 on Saturday night, an organized fraudulent gang has formed in the country with ‘Joiner’ animals. The animal is used in the manufacture of cancer drugs, and some people are falling into the trap of buying and selling ‘Joiner’ by spreading rumors that it is in great demand in neighboring countries. A joiner priced up to Tk. 50 lakh.
According to RAB, the arrested Russell is also a member of this fraudulent group. He has been smuggling joiners to different parts of the country at high prices with great skill. He was arrested based on secret information. After interrogation, Russell was handed over to Galachipa police station and a case filed under section (b) of the Special Powers Act 1974, RAB-8 said in a press release.
