Fruit trees should plant to eliminate the lack of Food for wild animals: Bangladesh Environment Minister
The Minister, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), Bangladesh, has instructed the officials of the Forest Department to plant more fruit trees to eliminate the food crisis of wild animals. Shahab Uddin
He said, “Food is provided to wildlife through various projects. This is a temporary solution, as food shortages reoccur when the project ends.”
“In areas where monkeys or other wildlife need regular food, including Madaripur’s Charmugaria, more and more fruit trees suitable for wildlife food should plant,” he added.
During the discussion on the project titled ‘Modernization of Charmuguria Ecopark existing under Madaripur district’ held at the meeting room of the MOEFCC, Bangladesh, recently, he gave this order to the forest department by connecting virtually with the government residence.
Shahab Uddin said, “Pond and bill re-excavation work in the Haor area should complete on time. Sheikh Russel Aviary and Ecopark in Rangunia, Chittagong, the creation of green belt in Cox’s Bazar district, environment restoration, and eco-tourism development and reforestation and infrastructure development projects in Sylhet Forest Division should maintain.”
Meanwhile, he directed the Chief Conservator of Forests to take necessary steps to construct Ecoparks at Jaldhaka in Nilphamari, Satkania in Chittagong, and Habirbari in Bhaluka as promised.
