A big step has been taken to support green energy. This aims to keep the country’s energy safe and lower gas emissions.
On 1 October 2026, the solar energy projects were launched. They are set up on the roofs of government offices in Phulgazi, Chhagalnaiya, and Parshuram Upazilas, Feni District. The green solar power from this project is now sent straight to the national grid, changing the country’s power sector.
Project Overview and Renewable Energy Expansion: Local leaders and the Power Development Board talked about the project at the ceremony at the Phulgazi Dak Bungalow.
Solar systems with a total power of 960.8 kW have been put on the roofs of different government offices in these three Upazilas. Specifically, solar panels with capacities of 415.6 kW in Chhagalnaiya, 295.8 kW in Parshuram, and 249.4 kW in Phulgazi have been set up.
Implementation and Cost Savings: The project was jointly implemented by the Feni Palli Bidyut Samity and the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board. Using the empty rooftops of government buildings, this project cuts down on the use of traditional fuels and electricity. It also increases the country’s total energy supply. Extra electricity, after serving the buildings’ needs, goes to the national grid.
Conclusion and Green Perspective: Transitioning towards clean energy sources like solar power, while reducing the use of fossil fuels, is a critical imperative of the present time. Green Page feels that if Feni’s idea is followed and rooftop solar power is made necessary for all tall buildings in every area, Bangladesh can make fast progress towards a green economy.a
