Mobile Court evicted six illegal brick kilns at Gopalgonj, Bangladesh, to protect the environment
The mobile court fined a total of Tk 2.30millions for eviction of 6 illegal kilns in Gopalganj, Bangladesh.
On January 20, 2024, from morning to evening, the district administration and environment department jointly carried out this operation in Kekania and Charpukuria villages of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila and cleared the brick kilns. The mobile court was presided over by Executive Magistrate Ronti Poddar.
Executive Magistrate Ronty Poddar said that M/s RB Bricks, M/s SKB Bricks, M/s Lal Pari Bricks, M/s Meghna Bricks, M/s Star Bricks and M/s Pavel Bricks of Charpukuria village did not have permission.
Kiln owners have been damaging the environment by burning wood illegally for a long time. Although they were given several notices, they did not stop the kiln. As a result, 6 brick kilns have been demolished. Along with that, the kiln owners have been fined Tk 2.3 million.
