The Companies unable to setup ETP should be shut down: The Honorable High Court of Bangladesh.
A report submitted to the honorable High Court on the last Sunday by the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Environment and Forest and Climate change (MOEFCC) of Bangladesh showed that there exist 27 nos. of organization/companies in Shyampur area under the Old Dhaka City running without getting any environment clearance from the Department of Environment. According to the Environment Department, 10 hospitals and 17 different industrial establishments are running their companies without environmental clearances.
The Environment Department has reported to the High Court in this regard. The Hon’ble High Court has sought a report on whether any other companies are running without getting any environment clearance certificate.
Earlier, the honorable High Court gave three months to establish ETP by all the companies/authority including Dhaka WASA. Otherwise, the order was issued to shut down the companies if they failed to set up an establishment of ETP within the time frame.
