In Bandarban, Bangladesh four elephants died in seven months

Another wild elephant has killed in Lama Upazila of Bandarban, Bangladesh. The carcass of the elephant was found at Fansiakhali in the remote hilly Khalquilla area of the Phansiakhali union of the Upazila. In the last seven months, four elephants have died in the Upazila.

The dead male elephant is estimated to be around 12 years old. Meanwhile, it is known yet that it was a usual dead, or else it was being killed.

On Saturday morning (June 13) in Jhiri, a dead wild elephant was seen by a local union council member, Abdur Rahim, and he informed the local forest department authorities.

Dulhazara Safari Park, on Saturday afternoon after receiving the news, a team including Mostafizur Rahman and Lama Forest Department Sadar Range Officer Noor Alam Hafeez went to the spot and collected samples for an autopsy of the elephant.



Lama Sadar Range Officer Noor Alam Hafeez said it initially thought that the elephant might have died after falling from a barbed wire fence or a hill while crossing.

Regarding the death of the wild elephant, Lama Divisional Forest Officer SM Kaychar said samples of the elephant had collected for autopsy. An autopsy report will confirm the cause of the death of the elephant.
