Global warming. And because of this warming, a large part of Greenland’s ice-covered region or the Arctic shelf has broken away.

The Seven Nine N ice-covered region is located in the northeast of Greenland. The main area covered with ice is about 1,600 square kilometers.

Approximately 110 square kilometers have been separated from there. The Seven Nine N caught cracks in the area last year and eventually disintegrated by the end of this summer.

Greenland is experiencing the effects of global warming faster than any other region; record temperatures rose in the area last year and this summer.

Meanwhile, oceanographers say that the ice at the bottom of the water is gradually melting as the seafloor temperature rises. Larger areas are expected to melt ice as global temperatures continue to increase.
