Warmest temperature in 1000 years in Greenland

In a new study, Greenland, the world’s largest island in North America, recorded the highest temperature in the last 1,000 years. In addition, from 1990 to 2011, the average temperature there increased by one and a half degrees Celsius. The reputed scientific Journal Nature Publishes the information.

A study of the innermost ice of Greenland’s glaciers says rising temperatures are a ‘clear sign of global climate change.’ The highest temperature in the last 1000 years has been found there due to the effect of human-made climate change in the natural world.

Maria Hörhold, a glaciologist at Alfred Wegener Institute in Germany, said, “From 1990 to 2011, we monitored the increase in temperature. We now have clear evidence of global climate change.”

An earlier study in 1995 found that Greenland’s temperature is rising less than in other regions of the world. The 15-year observation found that the temperature is increasing a lot.

In addition, a November UN research report said that by 2050, all the world’s famous glaciers might disappear. The United Nations regularly monitors 18,600 glaciers in 50 locations. One-third of them expects to lose by the middle of this century.

Another study shows that two-thirds of these glaciers will disappear by 2100. However, the new study, which took samples in 2011, showed that temperatures have risen over the past 15 years.

Notably, several trillion tons of ice are melting in Greenland every decade. The extent of this ice melting is also increasing.
