The temperature of Dhaka is constantly increasing
The temperature has increased in various parts of Bangladesh, including its capital Dhaka on today (April 29, 2024). Among them, the highest temperature of this season was recorded in Chuadanga District on the same day.
The Meteorological Department says that the temperature may remain almost unchanged for at least two days. On the other hand, the amount of water vapor in the air is relatively high, which adds people’s discomfort.
According to meteorologists, this will persist until a heavy rainfall occurs. There is a glimpse of change in the ongoing heat wave after May 2, 2024.
Today, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at Chuadanga, 43 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature of the country was recorded in Jashore, 42.2 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in the capital has also increased today simultaneously. The maximum temperature recorded at Dhaka today is 40.3 degrees Celsius.
This is the second-highest temperature of this season at Dhaka, and it rose by about 2 degrees Celsius than yesterday (April 28, 2024).
Earlier, on April 20, the highest temperature of the current year at Dhaka was recorded at 40.4 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department extended the heatwave warning for three more days on April 28, 2024.
Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick from the Directorate of Meteorology, Bangladesh stated today that the heat will continue for at least the next two days. However, after May 2, the rate of heat increase may decrease.
The amount of water vapor in the air is now relatively high. Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said that if there is more water vapor in the air, chances of rain increase.
Heat waves started at the beginning of this month and are still going on in various parts of the country. This is a record temperature in the history of 76 years. Earlier last year there was a maximum of 16 consecutive days of heat wave in Bangladesh.
According to the Meteorological Department, a temperature of 36 to 37.9 degrees Celsius is a mild heat wave, 38 to 39.9 degrees Celsius is moderate, 40 to 41.9 degrees Celsius is severe, and 42 degrees Celsius or more is extreme.
The Meteorology Department forecasts rain in some areas in the next 24 hours, but no rain is expected anywhere in the country for the next week.
