After the meeting held on February 8, 2020, Planning Minister MA Mannan informed the media that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina assured this cooperation at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) in the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday.

The Planning Minister said, “At the moment, we all are worried about waste management. The Prime Minister and the government are also worried about this. Various proposals for waste management are coming up, one of which was discussed today.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that if a foreign company wants to come, we will assist them. If electricity can be produced from waste and it is in harmony with our environment and needs, we will cooperate.”

On the other hand, the Prime Minister also ordered to ensure alternative arrangements during the construction of the bridge over so that the road is not blocked. The Planning Minister said, “No matter how much the bridge is built, the emergency ferry should be there.

So that we can use the ferry in an emergency when the bridge became any type of damage or blocked. If electricity can be produced through waste management, our demand for electricity will be met, as well as our environment will be clean.”

Many places in the country including Dhaka are covered with waste. If environmental pollution is prevented and electricity is produced through proper waste management, the benefit will come in many ways.
