The United States agree to work closely with Bangladesh on the issue of climate change

Bangladesh Foreign Minister and US President’s climate envoy agree to work closely on global issues of climate change.
Bangladesh and the United States (US) have expressed their sincere desire to work closely on COP-26 and other multilateral platforms to fulfill their commitments, even if they go beyond the Paris Agreement under the Paris Agreement and, if necessary.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister pledged during a meeting between AK Abdul Momen and John Kerry, the Ba’athist administration’s envoy for climate change in Washington DC.
This has been informed in the press release of the foreign ministry. The meeting said. AK Abdul Momen and John Kerry discussed global climate change issues and possible Bangladesh-US cooperation in this regard.
Mr Kerry said Bangladesh was facing “constant challenges” due to climate change and frequent natural disasters, adding that “human displacement due to climate change is a critical security issue for all.”
At the time, AK Abdul Momen acknowledged Kerry’s significant contribution to the Paris Agreement on climate change and praised the United States’ decision to return to the Paris Agreement.
He briefed Kerry on all ongoing activities and future activities of the regional office of Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) and Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) in Dhaka.
